Work on Increasing Knowledge
Professional development and growth are cornerstones when it comes to career success. This requires constantly looking for ways to improve and expand your knowledge.
- Look to colleagues, friends, and networking opportunities to help boost self-improvement.
- Be open to different opportunities that can lead to growth.
- Set goals to keep you on track, and find ways to meet and even surpass them.
Work on Communication
Communication is a necessary skill everyone needs to succeed in their career.
- Avoid taking things personally. Don’t let emotionality cloud your judgment or ability to make decisions.
- Don’t hold back from seeking out what you deserve. If it’s a raise, promotion or credit for an accomplishment, you have to speak up to get what you want.
- Talk, move and act with confidence. Doing so projects that you’re a strong leader and effective communicator.
- Don’t be afraid to challenge the status quo. Go with your gut, be ambitious!
Indeed, there’s little doubt that transgender, disabled and cis women can conquer the business world just as well as — and maybe even better — than men. Working on these three fundamental techniques is the best way to not just prove your worth, but ultimately, show them exactly who’s boss.
