BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

Hi everyone!!  So, I just got back from a family vacation visiting my sister and her husband in Arizona.  We got there and the temperature was right around 100 degrees.  So, throughout the majority of the trip, we had a bottle of water in our hand.  Since I have been trying to get in the habit of drinking more water, this really helped me start a good habit.  If you read my post “Benefits When We Stop Drinking Soda” you might remember that I was addicted to Diet Coke awhile back.  Since I stopped drinking Diet Coke, I’ve been trying to drink more water and it is making a big difference in my life.  There are many benefits of drinking water and I’m looking forward to experiencing them!!

BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

Skin Improves

Reduce acne and hydrate dry and cracked skin.

Helps with Dehydration – Feeling Tired – Brain Function

When dehydrated, our whole body is affected by it.  It causes us to be tired, have headaches, alters our mood and affects how our brain functions.  For this reason, drink regularly to keep our body feeling good overall.

Stay Regular

It gets our metabolism working well which then helps breaks our food down.  This will help with regular bowel movements and avoid constipation.

Less Chance of Kidney Stones / Kidney Function Improves / Removes Toxins

Drinking enough helps urine stay light in color and odorless which are all good things to have for decreasing the risk of kidney stones.  When our kidneys are healthy they will help cleanse the body of toxins in addition to the water helping remove toxins from our body.

Weight Loss

Since it is 0 calories, it is the healthier choice when deciding on what to drink.  Drink before meals to fill up and not eat as much high calorie food.  It will also help increase metabolism and burn more calories.  Our body works harder when we drink it cold.  This burns more calories and helps with weight loss.

Here are some tips to get in the habit of drinking more water

If you feel thirsty listen to your body.  Have a bottle handy so other options aren’t as tempting.

Also, when it’s hot outside, have a bottle handy.  Do not risk dehydration.  Drinking soda will make it worse so always have water available when it’s hot out.

If your sick of the taste of water, add flavor.  There are the packets or the squirt flavors to pick from.

The best tip is, it’s so good for us and the best choice when deciding what to drink.
