PLANNING A BUDGET-FRIENDLY WEEKEND TRIP

Here’s another awesome guest post we have to share with you this week, Planning a Budget-Friendly Weekend Trip, by Sara Bailey.  Thank you Sara for providing this great post for us!!  We really enjoyed it and appreciate the time you took for us!!

A weekend trip could be a perfect way to refresh and keep your mental health. It can allow you to escape the political climate, keep off social media, and de-stress. Traveling can impact one’s brain’s creativity. It helps enhance one’s mental health and lower the levels of worrying. Also, a trip to certain locations helps boost mental health and lowers the risk of heart disease. But going for a trip can cost you an arm and a leg. As a result, you must plan a budget-friendly weekend trip.

Budget travel is flexible travel that relies on inventiveness to cut down on costs. It entails instituting cost-saving measures to get the best value from your trip. For instance, instead of getting a hotel, consider getting a vacation rental for your trip.

Despite cutting down on costs, budget travel should allow you to have fun, enjoy the best foods and drinks and visit attractive places.

But your trip can only be successful if you carefully choose your destination. Mental Floss notes that it means that you must start the preparations early enough.  Here are the things you must do to make your trip budget-friendly, but get value for your money.

Choosing a Perfect Budget-Friendly Destination

If you do not want to spend a lot of money on your vacation, you must first choose a budget-friendly location. Most locations charge high during the summer peak. But when you visit such areas during off-peak periods, you are likely to pay less. Therefore, consider going for a vacation during off-peak seasons.

Also, choosing your destination wisely could help you save lots of money. For instance, booking Caribbean resorts early can help you save money compared to booking during summer.

How to Save on Expenses While You’re Away

There are plenty of things you can do to reduce expenses. For instance, purchasing a roundtrip ticket enables you to buy the tickets at discounted prices. Search online for discounted airline fare deals and compare the prices. Also, if you are traveling in a group, check for any offers available and make a booking.

You may also sign up for alerts on websites so that you get notified of when airfares fall to enable you to take advantage of them.

While at the destination, there are plenty of ways to help you save money.  For instance, hotels can be pricey. So consider renting homes to prepare your meals and enjoy the vacation.

Don’t Visit Too Many Destinations

You may not get the most from your trip if you cram in unnecessary destinations. It is costly to travel to these locations. Also, you may end up spending most of your time traveling. So, Nomadic Matt suggests exploring fewer destinations and getting enough time to relax.  Also, public transport is always cheaper, so consider using public means if the distance is great. But if the destinations are closer to each other, you may decide to walk to cut down on costs.

Pack Necessities

Buying items to use while on a trip increases your expenses for no good reason. So ensure to pack things like a toothbrush, pajamas, and other necessities you will need while enjoying your vacation. However, ensure that you don’t pack too many things to avoid carrying unnecessary luggage. This includes not bringing along bulky items like strollers for the young ones; if you go on a weekend trip to Disney World, you can use websites like Mouse Life Today to help you plan an incredible getaway — click here to learn more.

Plan for Your Absence

But as you plan for the trip, you must plan how your business will operate for the few days you will be away. You may delegate the task to your employees. Of course, some employees can do 80% of the tasks you do. So it is acceptable to delegate such tasks to them for the time you will be away.

A weekend trip is a perfect opportunity to recharge. With the tips above – from sticking to a budget, using online resources to plan out your weekend excursion, and saving on expenses to limiting the number of destinations – you can plan a trip that’s easy on your wallet.
