Hi friends. Thanks for stopping by. Even though the year is almost over, there’s still time to plan a get away for you and your loved ones. If you are looking for a fun weekend get away trip, Las Vegas is a great pick. We left on a Friday and came back Sunday. It was the perfect amount of time to do a bunch of awesome things and we were able to get away from home for awhile. Keep reading to see the things we did and if a Las Vegas weekend getaway is your next trip.

LAS VEGAS WEEKEND GETAWAY
The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort
We stayed in a Bella Suite at the Palazzo. The room was perfect. Very spacious, clean and beautiful.
Paige and Andrew came along so we got a room with a double bed. This hotel was probably one of the fanciest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommend.
Grand Canal Shoppes
Walking through the hotel is like being in a different world. The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian is a premier destination for Las Vegas luxury shopping. Featuring over 160 signature stores with dozens of luxury brands. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Gondola Rides
One of the things I was really looking forward to doing was taking a gondola ride. It’s always been a dream to go to Italy, so this was the next best thing. We had a lot of fun and it was a great experience.
RESTAURANTS
Chica – in The Venetian tower
At CHICA, chef Lorena Garcia has crafted a diverse menu influenced by Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and many more. We all thought the food here was delicious. Discover these bold tastes at this culinary oasis in Restaurant Row in The Venetian tower.
Top of Binion’s Steakhouse
This romantic restaurant is located on the 24th floor on Fremont Street. Everything here is over the top. The food was outstanding and the views are breathtaking.
Yard House
The Yard House is located at the Linq. Food was delicious and the service was great.
Bouchon – in the Venezia Tower
Another great restaurant to try is Bouchon. Sunday brunch is recommended on their website. The environment was very nice and the food was delicious.
Grand Lux Café – at The Palazzo
If you are looking for a variety of delicious food options, the Grand Lux Café is a great choice. This was our last stop and we didn’t leave hungry. Choose from breakfast items, appetizers, pizza, seafood, steaks, burgers, chicken, specialty items, pasta, salads, sandwiches and over 20 fabulous desserts!
THINGS TO DO
The Linq Spa
Need a little pampering while your in Vegas? Stop at the Linq spa and treat yourself.
The seasonal specials were ones offered while we were visiting. Check the website and see what the options are available for your stay and book something special for yourself.
Gold & Silver Pawn Shop
One of our favorite shows at home to watch is Pawn Shop, so visiting this shop was a must! We weren’t able to see any of the stars of the show but took pictures next to Rick’s life size cutout. If you are a fan of the show it’s a fun way to spend the day.
Fremont Street
Are you planning your Las Vegas trip for Halloween? This year guests can head down to Fremont Street Experience for Halloween haunts, flash mobs and free nightly entertainment including themed, theatrical musical performances by Alter Igor on 1st Street Stage, as well as an exclusive production show “Wicked Dreams,” complete with dazzling visuals, alluring dancers and aerialists on 3rd Street Stage. Check the website to see what the lineup is and plan accordingly.
SlotZilla
If you are feeling adventurous while in Vegas, make sure to head to SlotZilla. SlotZilla is a 11-story slot machine-inspired zip line attraction and is one of the best things to do in Las Vegas. Pick from the zip line and ride for 2 blocks and 7 stories high or the zoom line and go for 5 blocks and 11 stories high. Paige and Scott were brave enough to do this. I was the picture taker. Something fun to do and a great memory to add to your trip.
Fremont Street Light Show
The free light shows at Fremont Street Experience are a must-see in Las Vegas! Programming runs 24/7, but each of the featured shows runs each and every night at 6:00pm, 7:00pm, 8:00pm, 9:00pm, 10:00pm, 11:00pm, 12:00am and 1:00am. The shows run for 6-7 minutes at the top of the hour. View the Viva Vision Light Show Schedule.
One of the most spectacular ways to see the lights of Fremont Street is by flying on the SlotZilla zip line! Flying under the Viva Vision screen is a thrill for the senses, to say the least.
Wedding Chapel
If you are feeling romantic, something fun to do in Las Vegas is to renew your wedding vows. There are many chapels to pick from. Make sure you have all your paperwork ready and make your trip a romantic weekend getaway.
The Linq Promenade
If you are in the mood for some shopping stop at the Linq Promenade. The Linq Promenade is an open air shopping center on the Las Vegas Strip between the Linq hotel and the Flamingo Hotel with restaurants, bars, and the High Roller, the world’s largest observation wheel. It’s a beautiful place to stroll at night, take in the sites, grab a bite, and do a little touristy shopping.
High Roller
Another fun activity to include in your Las Vegas weekend getaway is to ride the High Roller. Soar 550 feet above the center of the Las Vegas Strip on the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel. With sweeping 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Valley and The Strip, the wheel takes 30 minutes to complete one revolution and features 28 spacious cabins to accommodate guests. Stop by the Total Snapshot kiosk to purchase a commemorative photo of your High Roller experience. It’s a perfect keepsake for an unforgettable moment.
Criss Angel Magic Show
Looking for a fun way to spend the night in Las Vegas? If you love magic, book tickets to the Criss Angel’s magic show. We all had a great time! You’ll be amazed by all the tricks and it’s a great show to take the kids to.
Flamago Wildlife
We didn’t stay at the Flamago hotel but made a stop to see the flamingos. Roam the peaceful and relaxing four-acre gardens, complete with meandering streams, waterfalls, exotic birds, turtles and fish. With no cost to enter, the habitat is a fun experience for the whole family.
Bellagio Hotel and Casino
If you like nature, stop at The Conservatory – Bellagio’s Opus. Each season, the enormously talented Horticulture and Engineering teams transform the 14,000-square-foot Botanical Gardens into a showcase of inspiring sights, sounds, scents and colors. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter are all featured—along with a special display for Lunar New Year. When the seasons change so do the displays. The talented Conservatory team changes out the design and also replants and repurposes as much of the living plant material as possible.
The Fountains of Bellagio
If you are already at the Bellagio, top off your Las Vegas weekend getaway by making time to see the fountains of Bellagio. At Bellagio, more than a thousand fountains sway in front of the hotel, enhanced by music and light. The display spans more than 1,000 feet with water soaring as high as 460 feet into the air. Check the days and times and make sure to see this beautiful attraction.
