Hi everyone!! So, recently I wrote, 102 Fun List Ideas To Do With Someone You Love. This list had a large variety of different things to do with the someone special in your life. This week, I thought I would go further into detail about the classes I listed on last weeks post. My husband and I have been signing up for different craft classes in Wisconsin and learning new projects. Over the last few years we have completed a variety of different craft classes and I’m always looking for other ones to join.
Whether you are traveling and looking for something to do or need a gift idea, these classes are so much fun. If you are not around the Wisconsin area, do a search for the name of the class you are looking for in your hometown and see what’s available. You may be able to find something near you.

Painting Class – We had found this fun painting class in Milwaukee, WI. It was about 1 hour from our hometown but worth the drive. We made a day of it and saw a show in the afternoon, then had dinner and lastly the painting. We met up with my daughter and her friend and all painted together. Don’t worry if you are not good. I haven’t painted since high school (over 20 years ago) and I was able to keep up. There are instructors who show you what to do and make sure you are keeping up with the class.

Glass Blowing – My husband had been interested in doing this for awhile, so I surprised him for our anniversary to take the glass blowing class. There were not a lot of people in this class which made it nice for the teacher to spend more time with you. It was a lot of fun and we made some beautiful pieces. You can sign up at the Hot Shop Glass Studio and Gallery or read more on their website.

Bowl Turning – My husband has been interested in wood turning and bought a lathe recently. So, we thought it would be a good idea to take the bowl turning class at Rockler.com in Milwaukee to learn more about how to use the lathe. There are only 4 spots available so you get more one on one time with the instructor. Even if you don’t live in Wisconsin, if there is a Rockler.com near you, see if they carry this class. There are also pen turning classes and other fun crafts to learn.

Sewing Class – A few years ago, I had thought learning to sew would be so much fun. My husband bought me a machine so I signed up for an on-line class to learn how to sew. Learning on-line was not a good option for me though. I learn better with hands on so I found out Joann’s had sewing classes at their store and signed up for a few. Since my initial class, I have taken a number of classes and have made many other projects here. The bag in the picture is one of the items I’ve made so far. This is a great way to get hands on experience and also learn your machine better.

Mosaic Class – Another fun craft class to try is a mosaic class in Milwaukee, WI. I was able to find a Groupon for this class and get the price at a reasonable price. My husband made frames for the mosaics in the picture shown. I love how they turned out.
Board and Brush

Sheboygan, WI 53081
Brush and Board Class – My husband surprised me with this for our anniversary. We made some really nice crafts for our house and also had a lot of fun together. Sign up on their website if you are interested in their classes. This is also a great idea for a birthday party or girls night out idea.
Hands On Art Studio

Another fun class we did this summer was in Door County’s, Hands On Art Studio. Here you can take a number of different classes listed below.
- Metal Studio
- Painting Café/Glass Painting
- Art Barn Mosaics
- Art Barn Ceramics
- Fused Glass Studio
- Art Barn Spin Art
We decided on the Fused Glass class. We did this spur of the moment so you don’t need an appointment but you want to make sure you have at least 3 hours to dedicate to the project if you decide to do one here. They ship to your house for a fee so you don’t have to come back and pick up the project. This was a lot of fun and also a great experience.
