  • Brushing and flossing regularly can reduce tooth lose and future dental problems.
  • The chance of gingivitis, swollen gums and gum disease is greater when tartar and plaque build up is not taken care of.
  • Reducing the bacteria in your mouth could prevent the risk of heart disease, heart attack, and stroke.

There are ways of preventing problems by following the steps listed below

  • Brush teeth at least two times a day for two minutes each time.
  • It’s important to brush and floss because just brushing will not get in-between the gums.
  • Floss daily and make sure to get between each tooth.
  • Regular flossing helps prevent sticky plaque buildup in early stages.
  • Visit the dentist to get regular check ups. The dentist will be able to remove the plaque, tartar buildup and staining caused by coffee and tea that we don’t get with brushing.
  • Brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist regularly means less future dental problems saving large amounts of money down the road.

TIPS ON PROPER CLEANING

  • When brushing make sure to clean the inner, outer and chewing surfaces and don’t forget the back.
  • Take your time brushing spending two minutes two times a day cleaning (morning and bedtime).
  • Make sure the toothbrush used fits your mouth and can also get at the hard to reach spots.
  • Replace your toothbrush every three to four months.
  • Don’t use toothbrushes with worn bristles. If they are it is time to replace the toothbrush.
  • Use a brand of toothpaste that benefits you. Fluoride toothpaste helps strengthen teeth, if your teeth are sensitive get a brand that helps with that or if you want whiter teeth get a paste that helps get teeth whiter.
  • Don’t forget to brush your tongue.
  • Use an electric toothbrush to help get hard to reach places.
  • When flossing make sure to get between each tooth. Wrap the floss around the tooth to scrap plaque away using up and down motions with the floss.
  • Use a mouthwash to help keep breath fresh
